I dunno who needs to hear it today besides me, but recovery doesn't mean returning to your old self. There might be elements of it present but you're a new person now. If you need to mourn or grieve or be angry, you should allow yourself time to do that.

Honor your past but don't hold onto it too tightly. They did their job, now it's time to do ours and heal.

@alice i need to remind myself a lot 😅 i get so down on myself for not reading like i used to, for not liking the same things or having the same drive or ambition. i'm just not the same person anymore and thats okay.
